It shouldn’t be a shock that he is committed to Alabama.The Colonia (N.J.) five-star defensive end was the eighth-rated recruit back in November, but was bumped up to the top spot in the latest go-around. It should be noted that this is according to 247Sports’ proprietary rankings, not their composite ones.Alfano is the No. 5 overall recruit, according to the composite listing. He took to Twitter today to acknowledge his new status as 247’s top dog.“Thank you to @247Sports for making me the #1 overall high school football player in the country! He is the top prospect in the state of New Jersey and one of two New Jersey recruits to pick Alabama in this cycle.Alfano is also one of four five-star recruits to sign with the Crimson Tide in the 2019 cycle.
